Mom's Journey Blog

Insights Gained Through the Last 14 Years of My Life

As we start the month of May, I am reminded that 14 years ago on the 17th of May I was granted the blessing of becoming a stay-at-home mom. The day I got remarried I went from being a single working mom of a toddler, working as an admin assistant in a company called QMC, to becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom of a toddler and two preteen boys; a year later I also became a mother of a little girl who has always been homeschooled and never has had to be left at a babysitters house as I worked.

My life has changed immensely since I married Dana 14 years ago. Above all, I am thankful for all the things I have learned during this time, and look forward to learning more as the days, months and years go by. Most importantly, I’ve learned to trust completely in His love and provision for all of us; God has always provided for all our needs and we have never struggled financially because He’s always provided work for Dana. I know that the day that God stops sending work his way, He will provide for us in another way; there is nothing we need to worry about, ever. God has also opened up the world of network marketing to me, as well as the essential oil world, and it’s truly been fascinating learning about both of these! As I started exploring network marketing and the company called Young Living Essential Oils, I wanted to learn more and more each day. I truly wanted to help others understand all that I was learning, and so I am thankful to have become a Young Living mentor, specializing in helping others understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle that incorporated Young Living’s oils and oil-based products as one of the healthy habit.

Some final thoughts on network marketing combined with Young Living as I close this blog post. It’s a type of business that keeps us dependent on God’s monthly provision as we simply go about helping others live a lifestyle in which we can live vibrantly and not merely survive from day to day. It’s a lifestyle in which we have a surplus of time so we can actually listen to others without being in a hurry. A lifestyle which offers us time to take care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually as we plan into our daily schedule some great habits like exercising, purchasing healthy foods and preparing healthy meals throughout the day, getting enough sleep each night and not having to get woken up by alarm clocks, spending time with God in prayer and reading His Instruction Manual (the Bible) so we know how He desires us to live, spending time with those we love throughout the day and not having to fit them into our schedule after a busy day at work or school, etc. It’s a wonderful lifestyle that may seem too good to be true, but can become a reality if we treat our network marketing business as a professional business, and not simply as a hobby, a lottery ticket, or a get-rich-quick-without-any-effort scheme. Many have paved the way! As Adam Green, a young network marketing entrepreneur who has reached the pinnacle at Young Living, says in his book: “Most people wouldn’t consider getting a degree to be an easy journey, yet hundreds of thousands embark in that direction every year, a road well-worn and financed. The beauty of this business is that it compliments what you already do, working full-time on your job and part-time on your fortune,” (“25 to Life”, p) Network marketing is a journey worth taking, in my opinion.
