Why Building SLOWLY in Network Marketing is Best

Slow growth in business ensures that we KEEP the money and not end up losing it all within a few years. When a person wins the lottery, they start spending like there is no tomorrow and end up without any money withing a year or two. When someone loses weight rapidly with a diet or plastic surgery, they will regain all the weight, and maybe even more, within a few years. Why is that? It's because NEW HABITS have not been learned; the time to unlearn the bad habits we had and learn new ones has not happened because everything happened too fast.

Just as we wouldn't want our children to go from baby to teenager within a matter of months, it's important that we learn to step back and allow our business to have a slow steady growth as well. It takes times to unlearn the bad habits we learned at home, at school and in the society in which we live. Then, it will take time to learn good habits that will keep us wealthy for a lifetime, not rich for a few years.

It's not about how much money we make, but how much money we can keep. If a person makes $2,000 a month and is able to live on $1,800, he is going to be far better off that one that makes twice that much - $4,000 - but has expenses that total $4,500 each month. The first person will be $200 richer each month, and the second will be $500 dollars more in debt. Within a year, the first person will have $2,400 (200 times 12), and the second person will not only not have any  money but will be $6,000 (500*12) in debt! Who is truly better off?

When our business grows slowly, we can learn how to manage our money better. We learn to reinvest in our business so that we have money coming in steadily when we can no longer work for one reason or another. It will be a business we can fall back on easily because we didn't build it trading our time for money, like we do in a "regular job". We will be able to be like the first person and be able to KEEP the money, and not be constantly in debt.

Our character is redefined as our business grows slowly. We learn to be more patient. We learn to persevere under pressure. We learn to work with a team, instead of relying on our own efforts to get things done. We learn to be persistent and keep going no matter what happens. We learn to accept rejection as a part of life without getting all emotional. We learn to have a servant heart instead of being greedy. We learn to be peaceful and stress-free. We learn how to build lasting relationships with people instead of just seeing them as prospects.

Just as a tree won't bear fruit overnight that is worth eating, and just as our child won't learn to read, write, talk, walk and use the toilet overnight, so we much not expect our business to and character to be fully grown and mature within a few months or years. When we just see our network marketing business as a journey instead of a race, we can enjoy building it so much more, meeting new people along the way and simply enjoying being with them, talking with them, building a lasting relationship with them. And that is what life is all about.

When we relax and our enjoy our journey, we can learn so much more! The more we learn, the more we can help others. As we help others, we start making a lasting difference in the world. When we learn to speak to people's souls, the difference we can make is huge! How much better it would be at the end of our lives to have people remember us as someone who made big difference in their life, and not someone who simply made a lot of money and had lots of things, don't you think?

So, build slowly, but steadily. Learn good habits. Enjoy learning; enjoy the freedom you have to learn without having to take out loans to go to a particular school. Enjoy hanging out with people going in the same direction as you are, whether you are on the same 'team' or not. Just as each of us eventually learns how to read, write, walk and talk, our business will get to the top as long as we continue to learn good habits, and as long as we persevere until the end.
