God Always Has A Good Reason

Waiting is hard.... I know. It's not easy to understand WHY God asks us to just WAAAAAIIIIIIT for what seems a lifetime. We are doing all the right things, but we are just not moving ahead as quickly....as... we... hoped.

What we don't realize most times, though, is that through those waiting periods God is working behind the curtains, preparing us to be the very best in the area where He called us. We must learn to TRUST HIM and know there is always a good reason why He asks us to wait, even if we don't quite understand it just yet.

For me... God has asked me to wait because He gave me the gift of encouragement. I love encouraging others! The best way to encourage someone, though, is if we go through the same kind of experience that they are going through; if we don't, we can't understand what they are going through on a deeper level, right? In order for me to understand what it was like to be a single working mother, I had to go through that experience myself. In order for me to understand what it was like to  be divorced, I had to go through a divorce myself in 1997. In order for me to understand what it's like to be addicted to something, I had to be addicted to something that was hard for me to stop as well, and could only quit this addiction relying on God's strength. And in order to understand what people go through as they wait and wait, while doing the right thing each day, I have to wait myself. If God had helped me build my business immediately, like He does for some people, I wouldn't be able to understand truly what it's like to persevere, no matter how long the waiting period may be. In the midst of the waiting period, God has been building my character, and for that I will be eternally grateful.

God is amazing! I have learned not to question His motives any more. I  have learned to just know that He takes good care of me and keeps building me up in many ways as I continue to do what He desires me to do every single day, using the gift of encouragement to encourage others in any way possible, on a daily basis.
